Don’t Let People Drive Your $1.5 Million Sports Cars!

Actor Eddie Griffin, best known for his comedic role in the film Undercover Brother, may be working for free on his next film, Redline after he destroyed a rare Ferrari that is featured in movie. During a promotional campaign for the picture at Irwindale Speedway on Monday, Eddie lost control and put the Italian thoroughbred into a concrete wall. According to TMZ, funny man Eddie Griffin was crying more than laughing yesterday when he accidentally totaled a prized Ferrari Enzo at Irwindale Speedway, which was being used as a promotional tool for his latest film, Redline. The beautiful red, ultra rare, $1.5 million Ferrari Enzo was being used in conjunction with a charity event for Race for a Cause and as promotion for the upcoming film, Redline on Monday when the crash occurred. Reports claim that Griffin was doing rehearsals for the event when he lost control of the car and ended up in the wall, leaving the sleek sports car in a twisted mess. Eddie Griffin was taken from the track in an ambulance, but didn’t sustain any injuries and was in good spirits.

BBC reports that the Ferrari Enzo actually belongs to Redline producer, Daniel Sadek, who revealed that he has mixed feelings about the crash. “I’m glad Eddie came out of the crash OK but my dream car got destroyed.” After taking stock of the events at the speedway, Sadek reveals that he tried to put things into perspective and said, ” I went to my trailer for about 15 minutes and I thought, there’s people dying every day. A lot of worse things are happening in the world.”

Motor Trend points out that there are were only 400 Ferrari Enzos produced worldwide, with a price tag of $1 million each. As a testament to the Italian engineering, Eddie Griffin walked away from the accident unscathed, but the race car wasn’t as fortunate and is a total write-off.

Being the comedian, Eddie took the smash up in stride and was quoted after the crash as saying, “The brother’s good at karate and all the rest of that, but the brother can’t drive.”

Daniel Sadek, who is an avid car collector, has a number of his cars in the film and has already allowed one of his prized Porsches, valued at $200,000, to be destroyed for the movie. In light of the recent destruction of his Enzo, Sadek will certainly get more press for the movie, but is likely to scrap the idea of letting other actors from the film drive his prized, high end vehicles for the upcoming charity event at Irwindale Speedway.

This Daniel Sadek guy does have a point. There are way worse things that can happen to an individual, but damn! I wish somebody would wreck my $1.5 million dream car! Some muhfuckin heads would be rollin, REAL TALK! He’s taking this a lot better than I would… From now on this guy will definitely THINK2WICE about letting someone drive his prized sports cars!!!

EDIT: But peep this, TMZ is showing a video of the actual crash where it shows a guy apparantly recording it. Do you guys see how when the car comes within 2 inches of the guy’s face he doesn’t flinch?? I mean seriously, he does not move an inch … not even a little! Check it out…
